WeddingCard ♥ For a Lovely Couple

Me and my mum was attending one of my best girlfriends wedding this past weekend, and they were such a lovely couple! ♥ Great party, sweet family, good food & drinks ~ yummy mojito's! Sure am going to try making some at home!
We stayed at the same hotel as the party ~ room on the 13th floor, bar & dinner on the top 16th floor! If you see the photo further up, it's no wonder they call it the sky-bar! (The circle is around the room we stayed in :)

During the day we also got to shop in the nearby shoppingcentre, and on the way back we found a little shop named Scrap'n Joy in Bjervika. So we went back home with lots of good memories, some new Playstation games & freebies, yummy new papers, stamps, dies & gorjuss things!

Ofcourse I created the weddingcard to give them myself ~ it just wouldn't do to show up at the wedding with a plain store-bought card! Beeing a self-proclaimed scrap-artista... ;)
I got this AuroraWings digistamp for this occasion, but I'm sure it will show up on nearly all weddingcards I create from now on ~ Mitzi Sato Wiuff is such an amazing artist! ♥

Ranger ink  Vintage Distress embossing powder & my heat tool made the frame feel like sandpaper to the touch, wich is a really vintage effect!

The 'flicking-water-with-your-fingers' technique I told u about in my last post with the pirate card, I also used ALOT on this steampunk tag. Along with dabbing the tag in ink on my craftsheet. The background is done mostly with Scattered straw & Rusty Hinge, a dash of Vintage photo and perhaps some Tea dye! You can go along way to acheiving the vintage look by starting with theese Distress inks ans some good blending tools.. and water comes for free! :)

A Pirate's Life for me...

Deep Ocean ch. #79. ~ Inspired by a song! [June 14th.] Actually I thought about Kaptein Sabeltann when I was making this card... It's a beloved norwegian childrens character (translates to Captain Sabertooth) and one of the songs that gets stuck in your head is 'Kaptein Sabeltann'! Check out this YouTube video.. 'Sjørøverne kommer' Hiv og hoi!!!

I got a question on how to get this kind of background: you cover up the image with a postit, then after distressing around it, use the 'flicking-water-with-your-fingers' technique - or a spray/mister. I had some ink on my craftsheet wich I picked up droplets of and flicked on it as well. You can watch many 'spritz & flick' technique videos on youtube, this is one about 6+min. in: Ranger Inks video with Tim Holtz also here with Dixie Cravens Basic blending techniques n flickin water spots - The results are pretty cool!
